New format supported: Microsoft Project MPP
New Print Conductor 5.5 now supports MPP file format. MPP is an extension for a project file used by Microsoft Project project management software. These files store data used by Microsoft Project to manage the assigning, tracking and reporting results on the aspects of project work, teams, schedules and finances.
Simulate Overprinting feature for PDF files
When you prepare document layouts in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Reader or another desktop publishing software, there is an option to Simulate Overprinting for print production. This feature simulates the blending and overprinting of colors in the color-separated output. Normally when one color is painted over another it replaces the underlying color. If Overprint is set then the top color may be placed over the top of the base color. So, for example, yellow over cyan becomes green - a mixture of both yellow and cyan inks.
NOTE: In order to view the print output of this effect on-screen, Overprint Preview option has to be turned on in your desktop publishing software. For example, in Adobe Acrobat DC go to “Preferences” > “Page display” and select “Use Overprint Preview”: “Always”. However, when you toggle Overprint Preview on and off, you are really only toggling what you see on screen. It doesn't change the actual file.
In order to print PDF files using the simulate overprint feature in Print Conductor 5.5, go to Settings, Advanced, Open INI-file (“Edit .ini file”), find line Overprint=0 and change its value to Overprint=1.
Ability to print BAT, CMD, Java, VBS, PS1 and PS1M script files
In the new version you can print popular script files BAT, CMD, Java, VBS, PS1 and PS1M as text files including all the contents they have.
Ability to show/hide columns in the list
There are "File Name", "Date Modified", "Type", "Size", "Folder Path", "Pages", "Copies", "Pages range", "Paper Source", "Duplex" and "Orientation" columns (information fields) available to sort files in the List of Documents. We added a new submenu, so now you can select columns which should be displayed or hidden.
Ability to change columns order in the list
Another interface feature: you can swap columns in the List of Documents and arrange them as you prefer. Click & hold the boxes to move and place them in the right order.
Ability to restore printer default settings after the print session
We added an option to automatically restore default printer settings after printing in line with Print Conductor print settings. In the new version you can do it. Open INI-file (“Edit .ini file” in the Advanced Settings), find line PC_UseLocalPrinterSettings=0 and change it to PC_UseLocalPrinterSettings=1.
Date and time values in the “Date Modified” column are displayed according to your regional date and time settings in Windows
In the new version of Print Conductor we synchronized date and time display format for “Date Modified” column with your system settings. Now it is in line with the local date and time format which is set in your Windows user account.
